CaptScav - Mercaptan Scavenger
About CaptScav CaptScav is a water-soluble blend hydroxyl solution in a complex alcohol with an amine facing agent. This chemical is designed to break down mercaptans and then convert the remaining sulphides into sulphates. These resulting sulfates are attached to a water molecule and will separate them from the hydrocarbon phase. CaptScav is not a scavenger in chemical terms. Rather than ‘scavenging’ mercaptans, it converts them into a stable non hazardous sulfate salt (SO4-2) in water. The reacted mercaptans in the water waste are non toxic and easily treated. This is very important as it reduces disposal costs to a fraction of traditional mercaptan scavengers.  Application
Application is the key. The better the migration and the longer the reaction time, the less chemical requirement. Our engineers can recommend suitable injection points and procedures. Benefits Mercaptans are converted instantly to a non-hazardous salt in water that is easily disposed of. The reaction is instant and irreversible and has no effect on oil, gas or fuel quality.
